Nudging design for sustainability: photo app prototype

Here’s a video walkthrough of the FOTONS photo management app that I researched and designed for the MSc in user experience design at IADT.

Why?

Photos are stored in the cloud, and that means carbon emissions. The app uses UX design nudging (or persuasion) principles to increase positive motivation toward the environment when taking mobile photos (54,000 taken every second!). The nudging techniques used are called out during the walkthrough.
