As someone who lived for a long time in Oakland (couldnt afford Berkely) I've feeling that "douchebag" ain't gonna be feeling any love soon. It also sounds dated - I suspect you're a child of the 'Sixties? As for hipsters, I totally disagree with you. They're hipsters because they can afford to be; a luxury many other people cannot affird, Hipsters, and the tiresome tech hell of outpricing communities is not to be dismissed easily. Hipsters are a cookie cutter persona for a shower of oppressors that worldwide has torn the authenticity and heart out of many local communities; be in San Francisco, London, Dublin, or Melbourne. But a good article that provokes debate is a good learning ground.
