Great article, thanks for sharing insight and ideas to make things better! Microsoft UX is already weak, but LinkedIn's very sucky UX for has gotten progressively worse over the years as more useless functionality gets bolted on. (They're not alone - Indeed.com is a mess too.) The lack of mobility of the experience needs to be called out too - that the mobile and laptop experience are disparate when it comes to personalization, and the fact that applying for jobs often needs you to exit LinkedIn and create a new profile on another site. Why not just use Google Alerts and go straight to the other site? Or tell users they cannot apply using LinkedIn profiles in advance. Sadly, LinkedIn is now just another social media site (more about layoffs than job opportunities these days, unfortunately).
